Es stammt von Farmen im Süden Brasiliens (Rio Grande do Sul) und durchläuft einen innovativen Gerbungsprozess ohne Chrom, Schwermetalle oder gefährliche Säuren. Durch die Vereinfachung des Gerbprozesses werden Chemikalien und Energie reduziert, der Wasserverbrauch um etwa 40% gesenkt und der Salzeinsatz um 80% minimiert. Nach der Gerbung ist das Wasser recycelbar.
