Durch die Vereinfachung des Gerbprozesses werden Chemikalien und Energie reduziert, der Wasserverbrauch sinkt um etwa 40% und der Salzverbrauch um 80%. Das verwendete Wasser ist nach der Gerbung recycelbar.
